This cloud swept very rapidly down from the north late in the afternoon as we approached Pulau Kapas. We took down all sails before it arrived, and were glad we did. The wind gusted at more than 50 knots and it rained heavily for a while. We sailed downwind at more than six knots under bare poles. We were actually quite comfortable since the waves did not have time enough to get large before the squall passed.
